The Sigil Knight

I am currently working on the first draft of The Sigil Knight

A preview of the prologue for The Sigil Knight is now available. It has not been properly edited yet and will undergo changes prior to publication, but it is a nice early look at what I am doing.

  1. damn, I read this book and instantly go searching for book 2 to see 20% first draft. so I go on with life, forget about this book, have a couple kids, finish a bachelor’s degree. today I go through my kindle and see this book, so of course I instantly look up book 2 again. after what seems like half my lidea I come here to see its only 80% now. guess the only thing I can do is life the second half of my life and check back when I retire. love that you have a progress bar BTW, looking forward to book 2 ( if you couldn’t tell lol)

    • I sympathize (I hate waiting and had intended to publish within a shorter time frame). I’m closer to 90% just now, but that’s on the first draft, so publication isn’t imminent. I am working intensively every day though, and I feel like it is turning out better, bigger, and with more depth than the first book. I guess what I’m saying is, I hope to make it worth the wait! Glad to know that people are so eager to read the next book πŸ™‚

      • ha, I’ll be like the dog when his master leaves, I’ll be here waiting.😴 I really don’t mind the wait though if it’s even half as good as the first. just wanted to make my anticipation known. I like the sound of bigger and more depth πŸ‘ŒπŸ‘ˆ

    • Thank you! I hope to expand on those mechanics in the next book in interesting ways without going the whole rigorous ‘magic system’ route that takes too much of the magic away.

  2. Yup. Re read the book a third time, and it’s still great. I cannot wait until the next book comes out. So hard to find the good writing that is a staple of this novel. Thank you for your hard work in putting out a good read.

  3. Wow!! what an awesome book I couldn’t put it down. I did however get sad when Irial was killed. The over all story was very well written and kept my attention. All the story lines were for the most part finished up with none of the side lines left open. I can’t wait to read the next book. Hope to see it soon.

    • Thanks! I’m working hard to get the next book out. I keep saying that the first draft is nearly finished, but it has grown bigger and better than the first book, and it is taking longer to complete. I will send out an announcement once I start soliciting beta readers.

  4. OK, I’m hooked. I need the next book to come out soon. I need my fix. I can’t believe that it didn’t find your work sooner, as a fan of epic fantasy, but that is why I have Kindle Unlimited, to help me find authors that i have not read before. I am so glad that I gave The Sigil Blade a chance.

Please keep up the good work, and get the next book out! That way you can get working on the 3rd book!

Thanks also for the prologue, but that is like teasing us with the fun size Snickers…. like Lays, you can’t eat just one!

    • That really makes me happy! (and hungry)

I’m getting very close to finishing up the first draft of The Sigil Knight, and your encouragement is inspiring me with even more urgency to write the best book that I can. Once I’m through the draft, there will still be a lot of work to do before I am ready to publish, but I won’t keep you waiting too long.

If your interested, make sure to sign up to receive my author newsletter to get a notification when I start organizing a group of beta readers. The space will be limited in the first round.

  5. Excellent read … I general won’t even start a series unless several of the books are complete thanks to George Martin… But I am very glad I did on this book. I can’t wait to read the next one!

    • I’m happy to hear you enjoyed it. I promise not to end up 5 to 6 years between releases. I’m am 2/3 of the way through the first draft of book 2, and while there is a lot of work left to do to get everything right, I am hoping to have The Sigil Knight ready for publication by the middle of next year.

  6. This is one of the few book series where I can start reading in the morning and look up later to find its 5 o’clock in the afternoon. The first book was enthralling and masterfully created; I’m sure the 2nd book with be just as good. You are creating an amazing world!

    • Thanks! Your thoughtful feedback makes me want to work even harder at doing everything I can to make these books great. The plan is to build on the first book and deliver even more as the story grows. I’m excited by what I have completed so far and feel like people are going to enjoy the directions in which the characters and the world they live in are expanding.

  7. Thank you for the preview! I must say I am curious about the origins of the sword. Seoras quickly became one of my favorite characters during the last book. Looking forward to it!

    • Seoras is a lot of fun to write. He did really stand out in that first book and I hope to keep that going. And you will definitely learn more about that sword and its history in this next book as it does factor into the plot.

I also noticed the detailed and very thoughtful review you left for The Sigil Blade on Amazon. I want to thank you for that as it really gave me a lift that pushed me forward when I saw it. It is incredibly motivating for me to see that my work is reaching people who enjoyed it.

  8. Interesting start for Aed Seoras. Now I am waiting with anticipation to find out where this is going and what happens when he meets up with Edyrd again. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to this early draft. Keep up the great writing and I am looking forward to your new book!!

    • I’m glad I was able to give you an early look. I am getting into the heart of the story for The Sigil Knight and the story line involving the two of them is combining in a way that I think you will find rewarding as a reader. I am excited by where the book is going, but I have a lot of work ahead of me.
